For a long time, my life was shaped by Mormonism. When I stepped away from that high-demand system, I landed in a season of deep deconstruction, and not only of my faith. I found myself rethinking how I understood education, heritage, and the world itself.
What I found in that open space was a quiet invitation to build something new.
I've watched my children come alive when they are given room to question, to think for themselves, and to see their own roots reflected in the history we study. Our homeschool doesn't have to look like a classroom. More often it looks like a conversation around the kitchen table, a walk through the changing seasons, or a deep dive into the ancestral stories we are slowly rediscovering together. As a family of mixed Mexican heritage, I've come to believe that honoring where we come from and working toward a more just world are the same work.
