Hola! I’m Anel.
I am a homeschool veteran of 13 years and counting, a former teacher, and a mother of five living in the heart of Texas. With my oldest having already flown the nest, I am navigating the transition of a changing home while still raising four children here with me. My days are spent at the beautiful and often messy intersections of family life and the quiet work of reclaiming the stories and rhythms that feel most true to us.
For a long time, my life was shaped by a high-demand religious system. When I stepped away, I found myself in a season of deep deconstruction, not just of my faith, but of how I viewed education, heritage, and the world.
What I discovered in that space was a quiet invitation to build something new.
I’ve watched my children thrive as they’ve been given the room to question, to think critically, and to see themselves reflected in the history we study. I’ve found that our homeschool does not need to look like a classroom. It can look like a conversation around the kitchen table, a walk through the changing seasons, or a deep dive into the ancestral roots that we are slowly rediscovering together.
Casa de Lestage is my way of sharing that journey with you.
This is not just a place for lesson plans. It is a space where we can be honest about the work of deconstructing our homes and rebuilding them with intention. Whether you are navigating your own "after" following a big life shift, looking for secular resources that honor diverse perspectives, or simply trying to find a slower, more rooted rhythm for your family, I am so glad you are here.
We are all just finding our way back to what is real and what is good. Let’s do it together.
