About Anel | Homeschooling Latina, Educator & Cultural Storyteller

Hola! I’m Anel — a veteran homeschooling Latina, former teacher, ex-mormon, and mother of five living in Texas.

Casa de Lestage is where my family’s story of learning, healing, and growth unfolds. We’re a bilingual, mixed-heritage family deeply rooted in our multicultural traditions. This space reflects our commitment to nurturing curiosity, embracing cultural richness, and living intentionally every day.

Our journey has taken us from a once traditional household shaped by devout religious practices to a new path of secular homeschooling — a lifestyle aligned with values of inclusivity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. I believe children thrive when raised in an environment where they’re safe to explore, ask questions, and make choices free from religious bias.

Through this blog, I share my experiences, resources, and insights on creating such a space for my kids and community. Whether you’re a seasoned homeschooler, just exploring secular education, or seeking a supportive, culturally aware community, I invite you to join us on this journey of intentional living and learning.
